Mr. Julian, founder and senior partner of Anderson, Julian & Hull LLP, has vast experience in the areas of education law, employment law, insurance, personal injury, ERISA litigation, complex commercial litigation, defense of governmental entities, civil rights, products liability, professional liability, construction law, real estate, commercial transactions, personal injury litigation, and appeals.
In the area of education law, Mr. Julian's practice emphasizes counseling and representation of school districts throughout the State of Idaho. In addition, Mr. Julian is responsible for the writing and publication of The Law of Education in Idaho, the leading authority on Education Law. Mr. Julian also is a sponsor of the Education Law Institute, presented annually to School Board attorneys, trustees, teachers and administrators.
Mr. Julian has tried well over 100 cases. His recent cases include:
- Denton v. Western States Equipment - Defense jury verdict in a wrongful termination lawsuit of a former president of the company seeking $3 million in damages.
- Collins & Guyon v. Pocatello School District - Defense jury verdict in wrongful transfer and demotion lawsuit.
- Hei v. Holzer - Jury verdict awarded no damages for sexual abuse claim of a High School Junior who had sexual relations with a High School employee after she reached age of majority.
Mr. Julian's employment law experience includes representation of employers in all matters of employment issues. Mr. Julian has extensive litigation experience representing private and government employers in a myriad of claims. In addition, Mr. Julian has lectured to numerous governmental entities and private employers and companies regarding employment law, product liability, insurance bad faith and business practices issues.
Along with being an extremely experienced litigator, Mr. Julian is a prolific writer, and author of The Law of Education in Idaho, a treatise thoroughly addressing all aspects of education and the law, and the Idaho Uniform Manual of Policies and Procedures for Schools, a handbook for school boards and administrators for use in the formulation of policies in compliance with the law. Mr. Julian is an Advocate Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Along with being a member of the Idaho State Bar, Mr. Julian is admitted to practice in United States Supreme Court; United States District Court for the District of Idaho; the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit; Nez Perce Indian Tribal Court; and all courts of the State of Idaho. Mr. Julian is also a member of The American Bar Association (Tort and Insurance Practice Section), the Idaho Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the Council of School Attorneys and the National School Board Association. He is rated by Martindale Hubbell with the highest available rating - AV.
Mr. Julian graduated cum laude from the University of Idaho, College of Law, in 1978, and was the recipient of various scholarships and honors, including the Idaho Law Foundation Scholarship, Richard B. Minas Scholarship (University of Idaho Law School), Idaho Law Review, Managing Editor, Utah State University Leadership Scholarship, Rich Memorial Scholastic Scholarship, Blue Key Honorary Fraternity Outstanding Student Award. Mr. Julian also graduated cum laude from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
